Ryumonji Zen Monastery depends on the generosity of practitioners and friends to sustain its buildings, land, and the living tradition of Zen training it offers. In keeping with the ancient Buddhist spirit of dana — free-will offering — all sesshins and public zazen sittings are offered on a dana basis, with only modest fees attached to certain related workshops. It is worth noting that donations made in exchange for goods or services, including sesshins, angos, and retreats, are not eligible for tax deduction. All other contributions, however, are fully tax deductible, as Ryumonji is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. EIN 42-1498148.
